How to make millions in the NFL?
The league is looking for ways to make its money, and one of its first moves was to bring in a veteran producer, producer Kevin McCarthy, who had previously produced commercials for the Dallas Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts.
The idea is to get NFL Films to pay for a crew of up to 30 people to produce its next commercial.
“I think it’s great for us to bring Kevin onboard, but we also realize that the league wants to invest more money in this industry and have its brand better represented,” said NFL Films President and CEO Kevin O’Neill.
“Kevin is going to do a lot of good for the league.”
The NFL has already invested more than $100 million in NFL Films, with the goal of bringing in $150 million over the next five years.
The first commercial that McCarthy produced for the NFL was in 2008, a spot for the Houston Texans, and it made $11.5 million.
The following year, he produced a commercial for the Miami Dolphins.
“We’re very excited about this partnership, and we know how important the NFL is to the growth of our business,” McCarthy said.
“So we’re very grateful for Kevin’s willingness to work with us.”
NFL Films also has plans to create its own production company.
The network is currently developing its own NFL production company to be called NFL Films Global, and McCarthy is hoping that the NFL will be a part of that.
He said that the goal is to create a new network that will work with NFL Films in a similar way to ESPN’s E!
and FOX Sports 1.
The NFL will also use the network to create original content.
The goal is that the company will be “big enough that we can hire a producer of the quality we’re used to from outside the NFL,” McCarthy added.
O’Neil said that NFL Films will have a “unique opportunity” in creating its own TV shows and movies, which could include new NFL content, including games, commercials and more.
“This is going be a new era for us,” he said.
